BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Solitary pairs of Rough-legged Buzzards nested, terrotorial Northern Harriers and wandering Long-tailed Skuas were often met.
Plovers, Wood Sandpiper, Bar-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel and Common Snipe arrived on 22 may, other waders appearred on 27-31 May. Migration had low intensity along tundra areas of the left Ob' shore, and was practically over by 5 June. The highest nesting density everywhere was reached by Wood Sandpiper, common species included Golden Plover, Ringed Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel, and Ruff. Red-necked Phalarope, Temmink's Stint, Common Sandpiper, Common and Pintail Snipes, Jack Snipe had sporadic distribution. Single pair of Common Greenshanks was met, and the first record of actively alarming Little Ringed Plovers was made. Frequent records of broods and alarming adults of most wader species in early to mid July allow to suppose that waders successfully nested in usual time. Clutch and chick loss due to predation and adverse weather was, probably, minimal.

Rodent dynamics:

Rodent numbers were extremaly low.
